Abstract

INTRODUCTION AND RESULTS This paper deals with the mechanics of take-off from a springboard by applying Newton's second law of conservation of momentum and the law of conservation of energy. It suggests that the diver should stamp when the springboard is slightly below the equilibrium position and is moving.
