Abstract

PURPOSE The method of biomechanics was used to study and analyse the back spiking technique of Mr. Nakagaich Yuich, a Japanese elite volleyball player. RESULT Through the study, we concluded that the characteristics of his back spiking technique were fast in approach run, long in the last stride, hitting the ball high and away from his forehead, wide amplitude of upper body movement fast arm swing, and longer distance in jumping. After the forward flight and the completion of back spiking, the left foot and the right foot landed successively and the two knees stretched in proper order. The stretching of the left knee played an important role in takeoff. In the process of takeoff, compared with front spiking players, the center of his body weight was higher.
