Abstract

The distance covered in a javelin throw is the result of numerous factors and there are many people who have researched and analyzed javelin throwing performances during competition (Ariel, 1973; Gregor, 1985; Komi & Mero, 1985; Miller & Munro, 1983; Terauds, 1975, 1978; Witchey, 1973). This research focused on the instant of release with particular emphasis on the magnitude of the release velocity, velocity of the angle, angles associated with the javelin, and the release height. The body segment contributions responsible for producing the release conditions have also been assessed.
