Abstract

The purpose of this study was investigation of inertial parameter of chinese human body by using the x-ray computerized tomographical (CT) method. Inertial parameters of body segment is fundamental to any kinetic analysis the human body. Many attemps have been made to establish the parameters of segment volume, density, mass, center of mass and moment of inertia. Unfortunately, China does not have such parameters. We have to use the data of Braune and Fisher (1902), Dempster (1955), Clauser (1969), Chandler (1975), Takashi Yokoi (1958) and Zatsiorsky (1971). Considering differences in race, age sex and country. 50 young males, 50 young female (18 to 24 years mold) living subjects, 20 fixed cadavers (15 males and 5 females, 10% formyl) and 6 fresh cadavers were selected by this study. The scanner employed in our investigation was G.E. CT8800. It is Third generation equipment of CT. Scan cross I cm sections in 3 cm intervals through the whole body of subjects, total scanning 55 to 66 slices. The radiocetive dose of one subjects is 15.6% (O.78mv) of national standards of China for a year. Average density of 17 kinds of tissues, organs and segments of human body were obtained regressions for caclucating mass, center of mass and moment of inertia for segment and whole body were established. The absolute error of the mass determined by CT method is 0.2 kg. The maximum relatie error of segment mass is 4.18%. Inertial parameters of Chinese subjects measured by CT method showed that the distribution of their mass are largely than cadavers.
